Janet Jackson is inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

After more than 30 years of superstardom, Janet Jackson has finally been inaugurated into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for 2019.

"We did it guys," she told her twitter fans shortly after the event.  She added "thank you for all your love and support."

Jackson finally joins her brother Michael and the Jackson 5 to receive the accolade.

Radiohead, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, the Cure, Roxy Music and The Zombies all joined Janet as new entries.

The details were announced on Thursday, and the official induction ceremony will take place on March 29th at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York City and will be broadcast on HBO and SiriusXM.

If you want to get hold of tickets for the event taking place in March, you will have to wait till January for details.

Janet, 52, attended the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong earlier today, and has been trending on Twitter all day since her appearance.

Last month, the 'Nasty' singer picked up a Global Icon Award at the MTV EMA's - during which, she made a powerful speech about empowering women.
